Students, art, mathematics

During the last teaching day before the long-awaited summer holiday, more than 50 students and the teachers participated in a graceful morning. The colorful and varied programs – hosted by the House of Science and Tecniques in Kecskemét – brought people’s logic and imagination into the workshops and to the tables. Among logical games from different parts of the world we also brought our caraWonga mosaic stickers to the event.

The Experience Workshop tirelessly travels around the world to show young people that mathematics is not that far from art. This connection is illustrated through various puzzle games. In the workshops, students gain knowledge and experience at a given topic at the same time and also have fun.

Dr. Kristóf Fenyvesi, founder of the Experience Workshop has loved caraWonga for a long time. Our carpets are permanent accessories of his events. Now that he came home from Finland, he invited us to a morning to hold a workshop for young people with our new product, the textile mosaic stickers. The groups were divided between 5th grade and 11th grade students and their task was to create spatial designs using diamonds.

The task wasn’t a problem for the students – fantastic designs were born. The kids quickly realized the potential of the mosaics. With a big smile on our faces, we were watching the many handy hands. It was a great feeling to see the works being made.

At the end of the program, an essential tool of the Experience Workshop events was completed too: the ’dome’. The morning flew away quickly and I think we can say that the students, the teachers and our performers went home filled with experiences.
